Signs that summer is here.......

The first adult grasshopper has been caught, fried, and eaten. (Noah has been looking for grasshoppers for months and has only been able to find baby grasshoppers)
 Oh, the stickiness of watermelon!
That little red dot in the middle of the water is Emma. She has no fear of the water and when she puts on the life jacket she will swim all the way to the other end of the lake!
Tomatoes are a definite sign that summer is here! We have been eating fresh tomatoes from the garden for weeks now and it's heavenly!

Great Wolf Lodge

Emma's Girlscout troop sold a ton of cookies and choose to use that money to go to Great Wolf Lodge. We all had a great time and got a lot of exercise going up all those stairs for the water slides.

Ensign Ranch

We went camping a couple weeks ago. This is our drive.....slow and wet all the way!
When we got to our camp site the kids were so very happy to get out of the car and go exploring! Noah came running back a few minutes later and said that he saw a black bear walking across the trail. I put a stop to all exploring at that point! A few minutes later some of the staff at the camp ground came by and said to keep the little kids close as they had reports of a bear roaming around!
When we got to our camp site Noah started a fire (his first 1 match fire). We got dinner going and got camp set up in the rain. I was a little worried that night as it rained hard all night long!
The next day turned out really nice. My brother Joshua and I went horseback riding for an hour in the morning and Kendall and the kids went out on the lake in canoes. A big thunder storm rolled in about 1pm and ended about 2:15. The kids were signed up to ride horses at 2pm. The kids didn't care that it was pouring down rain and got on the horses anyway. The horses didn't seem to feel the same and were very unhappy that we were dragging them out into the rain. I did kinda feel sorry for them and we did keep the ride very short.
There was this haunted shack in the woods near our camp site and the kids had fun exploring it. This is them being scared. :)
Kendall making breakfast in the morning.
Our camp site was very close to the river and the kids had a lot of fun skipping and throwing rocks into the water. We had such a fun time and plan on going back again before the summer is over!

Emma's 7th Birthday

Emma turned 7 years old on Wednesday! Mana surprised her and brought over a birthday balloon and donuts!
We made Emma work for her gift. We had clues that finally lead to her present.

She has been asking for a bigger bike for a while and she finally got it. It fits her personality perfectly....totally girly!
She requested a blue berry pie for her birthday.
Here she is in her new skirt and shirt her Mana made for her.
