Family Fun

We have had 12 kids and 9 adults at my mom's house for the weekend! Yes, Jacob is just in a t-shirt. He was so busy playing that he didn't make it to the bathroom. And of course we didn't think to bring extra pants.
We had a great time visiting!
Jacob just loved his Granny!

My brother, Jeremiah teaching his son Hyrum how to shoot the BB gun.
Addie was so cute and kept calling Jane her baby. She was snuggling with her mom and Jane and singing to her.
The kids had a great time playing in the water. I have a ton of pictures of them playing but I can't post most of them cause 2yr old Alexander decided to take his swim pants off and most of the pictures have him running around naked!
She looks so innocent, but don't be deceived, that bottle is full of dirt and as you can tell from the next few pictures the dirt didn't stay in the bottle and the bottle was refilled and emptied many times!

I gave Emma and Jacob a bath later that night and the water was so dirty they had trouble finding the soap when it dropped in the water!
Yes, Jacob has a bit of a black eye. He ran into Hyrum's foot when Joshua was swinging Hyrum around. It happens every time we want to take a family picture, some one has to get hurt!

A Day At The Beach With Family

My older brother, Jeremiah, and his family came to visit from Colorado and brought my Granny with them. She is my mom's mom and we haven't seen her in many years, Emma was Jane's age when we last saw her. My sister Jessica and her family also came to visit. If only Melissa and her family were here, it would have been perfect!
We spent a day out at Kayak Point. Noah caught 3 crabs in a net....they quickly turned into lunch!
Cousins: Emily, Liliana, and Emma
My nephew Hyrum caught a hermit crab.
Emily, Granny and Emma
Noah and Granny checking out the barnacles on the pier.
Daniel loves collecting cool rocks.
Granny wading through the water, which was really cold!
Emily hanging out on the drift wood.
Jacob playing in the water!
I love this look on Addie's face! You don't want to mess with this 2yr old!
I thought this picture was funny! All the boys enjoying the gummy bears and Emma sitting off the the side.
Diaper duty, Jeremiah! Those rocks couldn't have been very comfortable to lay on, but she wanted to lay there on the rocks. We all had a good laugh cause Jeremiah is getting his Phd in geology and is known as the rock expert in the family.
Addi is such a pretty little girl!
My mom with all but two of her grandchildren. (Wish Melissa and her family could have been here.)

The Many faces of Jane Elizabeth

4th of July

We went up to my mom's house for the 4th again this year. Growing up in California fire works of any kind were illegal so we always went and watched a big show. It's fun to start new traditions and have our own fire works show. Kendall and the kids went and bought a ton of fireworks in the morning and they all came home super excited.
Jane and I watched the fire works from inside cause of the noise, mosquitoes and cold.
Emma loves having a  little sister!
Seeing this picture for the 1st time kind of surprised me! That's a lot of people sitting on that couch! I've always thought of our family as "small", but we take up that whole couch!
We started letting off fire works around 8:30pm and didn't finish till almost 11pm! The kids had so much fun setting them off.  Poor Kendall had a hard time getting up at 5am the next day for work.
Jacob picked this car out and it was his favorite to watch go off.

Noah loved the ones that just let off tons of smelly smoke.

Jane Elizabeth

Jane Elizabeth was born at home on June 20th at 9:39pm. She weighed 8lbs 2oz and was 21 inches long. She was 9 days late. I finally decided that I was not going to go into labor on my own so I had the midwife come break my water to get labor to start. My midwife, Charlotte, came over in the morning and broke my water and nothing happened! No contractions at all! Around noon I started to have a few contractions, but then she had me lay down so they would stop cause she got a call from another mom who was in labor. So she left for that birth and left me with a couple of her assistants, who were amazing! We had a great time chatting and hanging out all afternoon. When Charlotte got back around 6pm we tried to get contractions to start up again. Nothing was happening so they decided to go for a walk and told us to call them if anything started. Funny thing is, as soon as they left at 8pm the contractions started. (It's like the phrase, "a watched pot never boils.") Kendall called Charlotte back and Jane was born soon after they got back. It was a fast intense labor and I was so happy when it was over!
The kids came in right after she was born and met their new little sister. They all fell in love with her instantly!
She is a really good baby and doesn't cry very much at all. We are so happy to have her in our family!
