Mary and Joseph Dinner

Every year we have a tradition that everyone in the family looks forward to. I think it's my favorite tradition that we have. We call it the Mary and Joseph dinner. On Christmas Eve we lay out a blanket and Kendall reads the story of Christ's birth from the Bible. Then we have a dinner of roasted lamb, goat cheese, figs, dates, olives and bread. We eat with our hands and sop our bread in olive oil. We talk about what it must have been like traveling to Bethlehem the night before the Savior's birth. It's a wonderful time to remember the true meaning of Christmas.
