The Squash Beast

In May someone was handing out squash starters to anyone who wanted squash. We got two plants that were about 2 or 3 inches tall and planted them in our garden. Since we have very limited space we decided to make them climb. Kendall made a frame for them to climb, then added extensions to the frame. The Beast, as we like to call it, is now close to 9 feet tall and still growing inches every day! There are 19 baby squash on it right now and I have no idea what to do with that much winter squash. Kendall goes out to the garden every day and tries to tame the Beast. I think we should just let it grow up over the house (There is nothing in the home owner association saying we can't have giant squash plants growing over our roof, so it's all good, right). We still don't know how we are going to support the squash when they get big. Any ideas are welcome!

Daniel's first solid food

Today I decided it was time for Daniel's next milestone, eating solid food. He loves it, of course! I should have known he would take to it so well as he loves to eat. He still doesn't sleep through the night. I am hoping a big bowl of rice cereal will help with that.

Sibling Love

I bring out the new camera and poof, my kids love each other and act like it too! They trade the hitting and yelling for hugs and kisses. I have to record these moments when they come along.

My Day

Today has been a bit hectic. It has been one of those days where I am so busy cleaning the house doing the grocery shopping and taking care of the kids, and yet my house is still a mess! I don't know how to keep up! Kendall had pack meeting for cubscouts this evening so he came home and everything stopped so we could all worked on that together. Of course the one day he plans something outside it is cold and rainy. We did pray real hard that it wouldn't rain for the pack meeting and it didn't, so it all worked out. I brought Emma and Daniel home early so Emma could go to bed. The funniest thing happened to her today, well she didn't find it so funny. She was in the bathroom and I hear her start screaming, she screams often so I didn't rush in there or anything, just took my time. When I saw her stuck in the toilet I just started laughing, cause it was kind of funny to see her all folded up in the toilet. I did eventually stop laughing and helped her out and into the bathtub. I did think about running for the camera, but then thought that would be cruel.

Sleepless in Seattle

It is after 9pm and everyone is in bed for the night, except Daniel of course. So I thought I should start working on my blog. Sorry no pictures yet, I get my new camera on the 30th, I am so excited! I am a bit frustrated with Daniel tonight cause he won't go to sleep. But then I guess I am a little frustrated every night cause he never goes to sleep before 10pm. Emma has started the "why?" thing. I had forgotten about that phase. It stared yesterday when we went to the beach and now every time I say anything it's "why, mom, why??" repeated ten times. I am trying really hard to find the humor behind it and not get frustrated. Well that's it for tonight, Daniel is finally asleep and I am going to go tackle the dirty dishes.
