Halloween Party At Mana's

My mom (aka: Mana) had a Halloween party at her place with all the cousins that live here in Washington. The kids had a great time. She made lots of fun food, like witches fingers, oger poop, baby dogs wrapped in blankets, blood and pumpkin brains.

The kids went on a scavenger hunt.

Reading clues...

The treasure was in the oven....the kids all need to visit a dentist!

I love this picture of Daniel....he wasn't quite sure what to think about these teeth!

Emily holding Jacob.

Darian loves holding Jacob.

When I took Emma's doorknobs out her hair was all curly and her dad and brother had some fun with it!

Whidbey Island

A couple weeks ago I decided it was time to explore Whidbey Island. I've wanted to do this for a few years now and we just never seem to make the time. Kendall isn't a huge fan of road trips. So we picked him up from work that Saturday and drove to the ferry. We've never taken the ferry before so we were pretty excited.
Jacob was sound asleep in the car so I decided to just stay in the car with him and let him sleep while Kendall took the kids up on deck. We didn't choose the best day to go as it was very windy, rainy and cold. I love how Emma's hair blows around her face in this picture!

We stopped by Fort Casey on the west side of the island. It's a pretty cool old fort and the kids had a great time. It was really cold, wet and rainy so I ended up taking Jacob back to the car and hanging out there. Kendall and Noah had been there before with the scouts on a camp out. I am definitely going back when it's warm and sunny! Daniel seemed to gravitate to every single puddle and we soaking wet when they came back to the car. The kids had a blast!

Little Jacob woke up from his nap and was all smiles! It was a fun afternoon and the kids were very worn out and slept great that night!

Life Through an 8yr old's Eyes

So this is what happens when Noah gets a hold of the camera! I just discovered some of these this morning and they make me smile. I really do have silly children.

Okay, so Daniel is not the last to shove something up his nose!

Rock up the nose

I found these pictures on the computer a had a good laugh. A week or two after Jacob was born I found a very upset Daniel in the bathroom with Kendall. I asked what was wrong and Kendall said Daniel had shoved a rock up his nose and Kendall was trying to remove it.

I was amazed at how calm Daniel was when Kendall was removing this rock!

Kendall got a little creative in his method of removing the rock.

Okay this is the real rock that we removed from his nose. Kendall got it out with an allen wrench of all things! Daniel is my first and hopefully my last kid to put something up his nose. I wonder what his thought process was as he was shoving it up his nose!

Life has been really busy lately. Noah's new school program is taking a lot of time. We get all his supplies tomorrow I we are very excited to start up school full time!

This past week Noah, Emma and Daniel have all been sick. I knew Daniel wasn't feeling well when I found him on the floor with his pillow, blanket and one of Kendall's airplane books sound asleep. When I tried to take the book away he woke up and cried cause I took his book. I am happy to report that they are all feeling better except for some lingering coughs.

Noah loves to play with Jacob.

Jacob is a pretty good sport about Noah's ideas of playing with him.

Jacob has started smiling a lot lately and I am finally catching pictures of that smile.

Bunk Beds

Kendall finished the boy's bunk beds last week, but Noah didn't like the ladder we were going to make. He wanted a rope ladder. Kendall made the ladder today so the beds are done!! I think Kendall did a fantastic job on them! This is one very heavy, sturdy bed! The boys love it. Noah's favorite part is the rope ladder. I love that I can sit on the bottom bunk and not hit my head on the top bunk and I can sit up straight on the bottom bunk.

Random Pictures

Emma wanted the bike trailer hooked up to her little bike. I didn't think she would be able to pull it but as you can see she did just fine! Daniel had a great time being pulled up and down the street.

Little Jacob having some tummy time. He's not to fond of tummy time.

Emma and Jacob spending some time together. She and Noah just love to hold little Jacob.

Jacob fast asleep on Kendall.

Kendall finally finished the bunk beds! YEA! The kids were so excited to have them up. I don't have any great pictures of it right now, cause the boy's room is a mess right now, but they are cleaning it today and I will post pictures soon. Kendall is making a rope ladder for Noah to climb up to the top bunk. The kids don't seem to have any trouble getting to the top bunk with out a ladder!
