Bethany's Birthday

It was Bethany's birthday on Saturday. We made egg rolls, lemon chicken, chow mien and rice for dinner. It was so yummy! We also made apple crisp and an apple pie.

Jacob seemed to really enjoy the apple crisp!

Bethany has been a life saver this past month. She's so awesome! Jacob refused to take a nap one day last week and then crashed right before dinner on Bethany.

Also Bethany has won the kids over with her wonderful ability to read children's book for hours on end! Daniel will bring her piles and piles of books to read! By the time she leaves us she will be fluent in Dr. Seuss and have all his books memorised!

Pumpkin Patch

Every year we take the kids to the pumpkin patch at the plant farm near our home. I like it cause it's free and the pumpkins are not in a muddy field.

They have a tracker train ride.

They also have a hay ride. The kids love this!

Jacob was quite interested in the hay! The kids each got to pick out a pumpkin. I was very happy to see them pick out smaller pumpkins.

Seeing The Sites

Kendall's sister Bethany has come to stay with us and we decided to show her some of our favorite places.
We went to Ft. Casey. It was so wet but that didn't stop the kids from exploring the fort.

The kids and Bethany by one of the big guns.

Daniel wanted to have his picture taken but the heavy misty rain was blowing right into his face.

As we made our way around the island and up to Deception pass the sun came out and it was quite nice!

Daniel wanted to be up higher than everyone in this picture. He was so muddy by the time he came down!

Daniel found this piece of driftwood and thought himself so strong cause he could pick it up.

Jacob was tired after our day of exploring.
So I'm still trying to update the blog these days. Here are a few pictures of what's been happening the last few months.
Emma is such a little mommy! She loves to read books to Jacob and I don't think Jacob minds too much!

She was being so sweet to Jacob and a huge help to me by keeping him occupied while I was busy.

My brother Joshua and I took the kids to the Zoo one day. The kids had a great time and I did too. Usually going to the zoo is not something I look forward to cause it's kinda stressful with 4 kids and they all want to go in different directions. But this trip was pretty stress free.

The kids really liked the bears.

The kids got to feed the birds which was pretty cool.

We went and picked blueberries this year. The kids really enjoyed it too. They would get all excited when they found a really good bush with lots of ripe berries!

And this is what happened when I asked the kids to wash the trash can out with the hose. Emma came in soaking wet! So there you have it, a few random pictures of what's been happening.

Utah Trip Part 2

We had the opportunity to visit Kendall's Grandpa Heaton and aunt Londa while we were up in Salt Lake. We went to church with them and then had dinner with them. Kendall's cousin Megan also came to visit with her two kids. It was nice to visit with them!

Jacob and aunt Londa.

Emma just loved Grandpa Heaton!

We also got to go to Temple Square one morning. It was so beautiful! The kids loved all the flowers around the temple and conference center.

We took a tour around the conference center. It was neat to see all the original works of art!

The kids up in the balcony of the conference center.

This chandelier and sky light were one of my favorite parts of the conference center. This is a view from the ground floor.

And this is a view from the top floor. Pictures just don't do it justice!

I love this picture! We went to the conference center first and Daniel was so excited to see the temple that when ever he got a glimpse of it through a window he would run to the window all excited!

The roof of the conference center was amazing! I wouldn't have thought that we were on the roof of a building! There were meadows, groves of trees and fountains that were amazing!

Another view of the roof.

The kids on the steps of the temple. I love those doors!

The kids inside the south visitors center. Daniel wanted his picture taken by the angel Moroni.

We got to the Tabernacle just in time for an organ concert. It was really loud in there and Jacob fell asleep and slept through most of it! I only wish we had had more time to see more, but we had a 5 hour drive to Cedar City to make that day.

Utah Trip- Part 1

So I have a ton of pictures from our 3 week trip to Utah. Due to my lack of time I think I will break it up into 3 separate posts.

We decided to make the drive in two days this year. The kids were great the whole trip with minimal complaining and we made really great time!

Even Jacob did really well on the long drive!

I love the look on Noah's face! The kids got a little bored and wanted to watch a movie so I told them that if they could make at least 12 or more semi trucks honk then they could watch a movie. They really got into it (believe it or not, so did Noah). It didn't take long to get the required number of trucks to honk and they got to watch their movie.

We are almost to Boise and our hotel, the kids are getting a little tired at this point, but they were still really good!

At the hotel for the night and having a late dinner before bedtime. We were all very happy to be out of the car. It was a very long night though as Jacob was up till 1am wanting to crawl around.

We stayed the weekend at my aunt Jan and uncle Jeff's house just north of Salt Lake City. All my dad's siblings and his mom were there. Also all my siblings except Jessica and her family were there. We really missed having them too. One of the days we went for a hike. Some of us stayed behind with some of the smaller kids and played at a park nearby. This is Noah and my brother, Jeremiah on the hike.

This is my brothers Jeremiah and Joshua, sister Melissa and her daughter Alina, Noah, cousin Ryan and grandma Alma at the falls.

Kendall and Noah on the hike.

Emma and cousin Hyrum playing in a tree.

We went to a park and took family pictures with everyone. I wish I had one of the whole group!

Noah and Hyrum had a lot of fun together!

My bother Jeremiah and his family: Sharon, Hyrum, Lyliana, and Addie.

Daniel's new little friend a rolly-polly bug.

My dad and Catherine with all the grand kids, minus my sister's 4 kids.

My Grandma Alma and all the great-grand kids. It was so fun to visit with everyone! It had been years since we were all together! My aunt Jan and uncle Jeff were so awesome to have us all at their place for the weekend!
